The Process of Shedding

Welcome to this edition of the Weekly Circle—where we start the week with a few ideas that make us think.

This week, we’re thinking about Shedding. Organizational expert Marie Kondo said it best:

There are two reasons we can’t let go: an attachment to the past or a fear for the future.

Last week I donated about 75% of my clothes and shoes that I don't wear anymore. This was HARD, because though many of them I had crazy memories with, I just didn't wear them anymore to makes sense of the space they were taking up in my drawers.

This is just one example.

Over the last month, I've been pretty proactive in shedding both physical and emotional things in my life, a doubling down and investing in the important relationships and physical things that make me happy. But by holding it, whatever it is, in your hands and understanding its impact on you, can help in making a clearer decision on keeping it in your life or letting it go.
