The Ability of Smell

The Ability of Smell

Welcome to this edition of the Weekly Circle—where we start the week with a few ideas that make us think.

This week, we’re thinking about Smell. American author Helen Keller put it well:

Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousands of miles and all the years you have lived.

Most smells pass by us. We don't give any further thought to them. We miss on grounding those smells and linking them to distant memories from our past like the smell of winter holidays, a loved one or the home where you grew up. They linger forever in the maze of your mind waiting to be brought to the surface by your awareness.

We'd love to hear from you!

What are some of your favorite smells and scents? What reminds you most of the winter holiday season?

A few things for you to click on:

📖  Rachel takes us on the journey of her relationship with scents that remind her of playing tennis while growing up.

🎥  Can you master your sense of smell? This 4 min video gets you up to speed on how smells work and how you can improve your smelling abilities.

That's all for this week! I hope you have an amazing, pleasantly scented week ahead!

Warmly,
Jesal
